■ Access codes
• Security code (5 to 10 digits): The security code helps to protect your phone
against unauthorised use. The code is supplied with your phone. The preset
code is 12345.

• PIN code (4 to 8 digits): The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code helps
to protect the SIM card against unauthorised use. It may be supplied with the
SIM card. If you activate the
PIN code request
function in the
Security settings
menu, the code is requested each time the phone is switched on.
If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in succession, the SIM card is
blocked. Enter the PUK code and press
OK
. Enter a new PIN code and press
OK
.
Enter the new code again and press
OK
.
• PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits): This code may be supplied with the SIM card and is
required to access some functions, such as call counters.

• PUK and PUK2 codes (8 digits): The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is
required to change a blocked PIN code. The PUK2 code is required to change a
blocked PIN2 code.
• Barring password (4 digits): This code is required when using the
Call barring
service
function in the
Security settings
menu.
• Module PIN and signing PIN: The module PIN is required to access the
information in the security module (see page
113
).
The signing PIN is required for the digital signature (see page
116
).
